Agency versus building your own pipeline is mostly a math-and-time question: agencies deliver speed at a premium; a direct pipeline (free RBT training, local university relationships, referral bonuses) costs effort and compounds. If you use agencies, ask about clinical placement specifics — school versus clinic experience, BCBA supervision expectations, and conversion terms if you want to hire someone permanently. Retention beats recruitment on price everywhere in this industry; weigh anything that reduces turnover against the cost of one more hire.
