MaineCare does not use CPT 97151-97158 either. ABA is priced under HCPCS H2021 with modifier combinations — U1 HK for community delivery, U2 HK for school-related, and UN, UP or UQ for group size — so Maine cannot be compared on the 97153 hourly figure used elsewhere on this site.
Every rate line is marked BHP, behavioral health professional, which is a technician-level credential. Maine publishes no separate BCBA or licensed-clinician ABA rate on this schedule.
Assessment is not on the Section 28 schedule. Adaptive assessment is priced separately on the Section 65 behavioral health schedule.
This schedule replaced the previous Section 28 in a mid-2026 program restructure. The rule that formerly carried these rates, Chapter III Section 65, was repealed effective 30 January 2026 and rates moved to published schedules.
One unit is 15 minutes, printed on every line.
